The consultants at PDG Health Services regularly receive questions from clients who want to offer a PMO to their employees. Many employers and clients think that offering a PMO is mandatory and often have questions about what a PMO process looks like. PDG Health Services helps clients with the entire process from A to Z and is happy to walk you through the steps from RI&E to PAGO and PMO.
Start-up process
Before we can start on the PMO, we always begin by asking whether there is an RI&E and whether it is up to date. This is because the RI&E contains a chapter that includes the PAGO advice. We always request the RI&E from the employer and have it reviewed again by our own core experts for an extra check.
From RI&E to PAGO
Suppose that the RI&E results in a PAGO recommendation. Roughly speaking, this means that risks associated with the various positions within the company have been identified. It also means that the employer is now obliged to offer a PAGO to the staff. This is logical, because if you know that your employees are exposed to a work-related risk, you want to be able to guarantee that your employees do not suffer any health problems as a result of this risk and to detect any problems at an early stage.
From PAGO to PMO
The PAGO is often offered in combination with the PMO. This is because, in addition to the health risks associated with the work, the general health risks of an employee are also taken into account. After all, these can also influence how a person feels, how well he or she can perform the work, and how susceptible he or she is to work-related risks. The PAGO is a mandatory component, but with the PMO, you can make it as comprehensive as you want or think is necessary.
